Sales, without the "salesy" compromise—built for SA/SE leaders who want to own the full cycle.

Apply for this role

The role at a glance

  • You are the primary commercial and technical driver—no paired Account Executive forwarding your notes.
  • Consultative discovery and architecture-first selling in enterprise observability (VictoriaMetrics and the stack around it).
  • For recovering Solutions Architects and Sales Engineers who want upside without greasy tactics or lost credibility.
  • Remote, full-time; prior quota-carrying experience not required.
  • Uncapped earning potential, technical autonomy, and a direct no-BS culture.

The Opportunity: Sales, Without the "Salesy" Compromise

Let's be honest: If you are a Solutions Architect or Sales Engineer, you have probably looked at traditional Account Executives and thought, "They get paid how much to essentially forward my technical notes and take the client to dinner?"

You know you have the business acumen to close deals. You have the curiosity to uncover real client pain points. But you've hesitated to cross over into front-line sales because you don't want to join a traditional, high-pressure sales organization. You don't want to lose your hard-earned technical credibility, use outdated closing tactics, or compromise your standing as a trusted advisor.

We built this role specifically for you.

At Proservability, we are looking for a front-line technical salesperson who wants to do things the right way, not the traditional way. We don't want a standard quota-crusher who doesn't understand the tech. We want a builder, an architect, and a naturally curious problem-solver who wants to take control of the entire commercial conversation—and get financially rewarded for it.

What You Will Do

As a front-line Technical Sales Executive, you won't be partnered with an Account Executive—you are the primary commercial and technical driver.

  • Drive the Full Cycle: Own the entire sales motion from discovery and technical validation to commercial negotiation and closing.
  • Consultative Discovery: Lead with intense curiosity. Continuously ask "why" to dig past surface-level requests and uncover the fundamental business and technical challenges the prospect is facing.
  • Architect the Win: Use your SA/SE background to design and position tailored solutions that are technically sound and commercially viable.
  • Protect Your Credibility: Sell through truth, technical accuracy, and immense value. You will never be asked to over-promise a feature or push a bad-fit deal just to hit a monthly metric.
  • Bridge the Gap: Translate complex technical architectures into compelling business outcomes for C-level executives, while remaining fully capable of going deep into the weeds with their engineering teams.

Who We Are Looking For

  • The Recovering SA/SE: You are currently (or recently) working as a Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager. You understand enterprise technology deeply but have a burning interest in the commercial side of the house.
  • Fiercely Curious: You don't just accept requirements at face value. You naturally reverse-engineer business problems and want to know how everything connects.
  • Business-Minded: You understand that technology is a means to a business end. You can read a room, understand ROI, and navigate organizational structures.
  • Authentic & Credible: You despise "greasy" sales tactics. You build relationships based on competence, trust, and delivering actual results.
  • A Calculated Risk-Taker: You want the financial upside and autonomy of front-line sales, but you require an environment that respects engineering realities and values technical integrity.

Qualifications (The "HR Made Us Write This" Section)

Note: Prior quota-carrying sales experience is NOT required. We will teach you the commercial mechanics; we need your technical brain and business curiosity.

  • 12+ years of enterprise experience using a framework that was only invented 4 years ago.
  • A Ph.D. in Theoretical Astrophysics, an active Forklift Certification, and a minimum of one Michelin Star. (Kidding. But you do need to be incredibly sharp, adaptable, and understand complex systems).
  • 3+ years of actual experience in a client-facing technical role (Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Technical Consulting).
  • Proven ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business leaders without making them feel dumb, and talk to engineers without making them feel sold to.
  • Strong baseline understanding of enterprise sales cycles, even if you weren't the one signing the final paperwork.
  • Exceptional questioning, listening, and objection-handling skills.

What We Offer

  • Uncapped Earning Potential: A compensation structure that rewards you for the revenue you drive, giving you the financial upside you've watched traditional AEs enjoy for years.
  • Technical Autonomy: A culture that values your engineering background and trusts your judgment on what constitutes a "good deal."
  • Remote Freedom: Work from wherever you do your best work.
  • A No-BS Culture: We communicate directly, build great things, and leave the traditional sales egos at the door.
